Every breeder needs to have a registered kennel to make the Pedigrees of a litter, registering a kennel is necessary to assign a name to the puppy, this name indicates which breeder the dog descends from ; the name can be added as an affix or a suffix.&nbsp;The name of the kennel serves to identify the origin of the specimen, it is the breeder's mark, and therefore at IBC the dog's name cannot be changed, it follows the dog's entire life, as well as all of its descendants.

Kennel Opening

The pedigree is your dog’s Official Document. If you have purchased a pedigree dog, you must request the transfer of ownership from IBC as soon as possible. The process is simple, inexpensive, and ensures that the animal is YOURS, creating greater security for the guardian.When the transfer is made, the data of the new tutor is saved in our database to prove its ownership, in addition, a pedigree in the name of the new owner will be sent via post. In case the pedigree is lost, presenting the identity document, the registered owner can request a duplicate of the pedigree.For our services, the pedigree of the dog belongs to those listed as owners in our database, and we serve only the legal owner of the animal.

Owner Transfer

When a litter is born, breeders must register the pups documenting all information relevant to the offspring. Litter Record

The pedigree is a document that certifies the pedigree of a breed dog, it is the identification document of the dogs, and it is extremely important that it is inserted in a legalized, qualified and credible entity.If you have a pedigree from another entity and want to recognize it at IBC, it is possible as long as the document comes from an entity officially recognized by us. Check the recognized entities in the regulations.Pedigree is serious, your dog deserves a pedigree from an entity you trust.

Pedigree Recognition

IBC has cynophile judges who will check if your pet is in accordance with the racial standard as well as if your dog’s pedigree is able to enter our studbook, in which case a morphological evaluation of the animal and a documentary evaluation by one of our trained judges.

Dog Evaluation with Pedigree

Considering the existence of a large number of purebred dogs that were unregistered for various reasons, IBC has a Dog Assessment service. In this case, a morphological assessment of the animal is carried out by one of our qualified judges who will verify that your animal complies with the racial standard.

Dog evaluation for Initial Registration

Considering the existence of the large number of breed dogs that do not have their ancestors registered, that were left unregistered for various reasons, or that were registered in entities not recognized by the IBC, this dog will have the opportunity to be evaluated by one of our judges cynophiles who will confront the specimen’s morphology to the official standard of the requested breed, and once approved, can proceed with the Initial Registration.Issued the Initial Registration, this dog is able to participate in exhibitions and reproduce within a certain breed;In the Initial Registration the pedigree will not have a family tree, so the registration of the lineage starts from the dog that will be registered, and therefore we emphasize that only in the 4th generation the descendants will be considered “pure by crossing”.The fact that the dog receives the Initial Registration does not mean that it is an indicator of being an excellent representative of the breed. It is a certificate that the dog meets the minimum criteria required by the standard established for a certain breed.When the breeder does not have the pedigree of both parents. If only the father or only the mother has a pedigree, Initial Registration is also required.This service should not be used by defaulting customers, who did not receive the pedigree because their dog was not paid off. If proven, dogs that have not been paid in full to the kennel of origin will have their documents canceled as well as all of their offspring, and the applicant will be permanently banned from the IBC. The amounts paid for the services will not be returned.

Initial Registration

The Tag or tarjeta is a kind of provisional document, used especially in North American entities, which contains only basic data of a given litter (father's name, mother's name, date of birth and race). In this type of document, the family tree does not appear, and in order to issue the Pedigree with the complete genealogy, we need to have access to the parents' document, except in cases where the parents are already inserted in our system, where we can search for the offspring.
